Breaking News : Paswan demands Bharat Ratna for Mohd. Rafi
Good News for we rafi lovers that somebody asks for Bharat Ratna for Mohd. Rafi.
Mr. Paswan has demanded that Mohd. Rafi should be awarded with Bharat Ratna.
BUT… I personally think that it is not a good time because everybody is seeing this as a political gimmick, and it is really bad for an artist who was always above such things.
somewhere in heart I feel that Bharat Ratna has lost its dignity in this political battle.
Mohd. Rafi should be awarded with Bharat Ratna because he really deserve this award.
But news channels are discussing the things like becuase of his religion he is being forwarded by Mr. Paswan, it may be true, but it is really bad… really bad, What you think?

Good to know, I Just saw this on the tv channel and came to this website, yes it is really a great thing for we rafi fans, but people has started such bad talks, Mohd. Rafi was a great singer and he was always above such things, we should do something so Bharat Ratna can maintain its charm and dignity….
I think we should make a policy that no politician will be awarded by this awards… at least for some years or some kind of restrictions….

The sudden demand from Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan for the Bharat Ratna to be given posthumously to Mohd. Rafi Sahab has come a little too late in the day. However, first things first. Mr. Paswan should be congratulated for having named Rafi Sahab for this prestigious award, when all the other political parties were naming persons from their own clan. Since many political parties have jumped in this frenzy of naming their choices, the scene is getting to become uglier by the day. I feel Rafi Sahab’s name should not be in the race with the likes of some of the persons whose names have been suggested by some of the parties. And cheap and dirty politics was bound to show its ugly face, considering the nature of Indian political parties behaviour over the last several decades. But while all these are facts, one should draw the best mileage out of this murky situation and take up the threads from here. Time is certainly not in our favour and we may not realize our dream this year. But having come thus far, we should not approach first Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan and then many of the other political parties, cultural organizations, members of parliaments, the media and the citizens of the country through various fora and see that the campaign for honouring Rafi Sahab with the country’s highest civilian award gains strength resulting in achieving the same atleast by next year. One should forget the comments by political parties over the name of Rafi Sahab taken by Ram Vilas Paswan, for it is in their blood to rake up such mistaken and unorthodox theories. Also, the people of the country can very well see through their game and will not fall pray anymore. Given the right projection by the organizations concerned, this campaign can still see the light and Indians will rise to the occasion as one man when it comes to the name of Rafi Sahab. LONG LIVE RAFI SAHAB – the ultimate in Gayiki.

Mr.Paswan is a politican, and when he is demanding about Bharat Ratna to Mohdrafi is a good indication from political view and as a central government. Rafisahab should be given Bharat ratna award this time, being a singer he was a great human being and helped many poor artists also. So, his dedication in his whole life was a superb and genius person.

Zareef ji
i understand ur point fully but i cant agree with it fully
u say this time is not good but then tell me which time we shud wait for?
bharat ratna and politics are so much intermingled that it is almost impossible to drag those two apart.
in bengali we have a saying, chorer upor rag kore matite bhat khaoa meaning chor ke upar gussa karke zameen pa baith ke khana khana as the thief seals ur plates everytime u buy. is it the way to protest to the activities of the theif? no.
similarly, rejecting bharat ratna isnt a good signal to be sent, the protest shud be in other forms
regards

on ndtv india (hindi) there was this discussion on whether political parties have politicized the bharat ratna issue this year. this was on 19th jan at 8.30 p.m. participants included mr manu singhvi (congress), mr prakash javdekar (Bjp), one ex-cabinet secretary of the government and also mr ramvilas paswan. the anchor initially asked mr paswan the reasons for suggesting the names of mahatma phule and mohd rafi sahab by him. to this mr paswan informed that it was the bjp first which raked up the name of mr atal bihari vajpayee and then the bsp which named mr kanshiram and the politicisation of the bharat ratna award was started by these parties and not by mr paswan. mr paswan went on to add that both mahatma phule and mohd rafi sahab were no more unlike the bjp’s candidate. also, during their entire life, both these names were never associated with any controversy. lastly, mr paswan argued that when lata mangeshkar could be given the bharat ratna, why not mohd rafi saha, who was her parallel in the music world. there were other view points by the other participants which are not necessary to be mentioned here. there was also a chance for viewers to air their views through sms on 56388 to which i sent the following – mohammed rafi sahab bharat ke sachhe ratna hai – and this was found on the ticker scroll from 8.45p.m. to the end of the programme. readers may also send email to ndtv to muk@ndtv.com on this specific subject. asmurty2@rediffmail.com

Aseer Sahab,
My reaction was instant to this news, and at the time of writing I was watching that news on a TV channel, they were saying that by suggesting Mohd. Rafi’s Name Mr. Paswan is playing Muslim card… I was disappointed with that comment, thats why I said it is not good time (Please see it in context of the politics associated with it)… anyway I appreciate your views and point.
I agree that it Bharat Ratna things should happen As soon As possible for Mohd. Rafi Sahab

Zareef bhai, for u I can say only what Rafi sahab said long ago
Achcho ko bura saabit karna duniya ki purani aadat hai
Bharat Ratna ko mubarak chiz samajh , mana ke bahat badnaam hai ye
may be Paswas is playing muslim card, but again it is better card(Rafi sahab , I mean) than some of those played by politicians.
At least, the signal to the youth today, which is much into violence today(one reason being the disruptie music culture, with gone era of melody the ’sabr’ of hearing a good music is gone and i feel psychologically this being one reason of youth being unrestful, unruly music makes the soul of its listener unruly and u can replace the word unrul iwth unholy also) will be good.
let paswan sahab win at least once in the election, but with this award youths will be redirected to the golder era of music and this world will became more worthy of living
i myself belong to the young generation, and this is my personal view of course
regards
and plz keep this good work going
Rafi sahab rules

Mohammed Rafi is an incarnation of god born on this sinful earth. So let’s not waste our time in trying to get this award and make him a mortal.
Let Rafi remain immortal.

Ya it is nice to hear that a politican demanding Bharat Ratna for the Legend, although it might have been done just for gaining some political support. As Zarif bhai thinks that it is not the right time for the demand made, i somewhat would like to support him because this will b more of a political award rather than an award given for his great talent. So when will the right time come for this award..? yes this is a million dollar questiion.I hope this will come soon. The time will come when the forgotten Rafi’s voice by today’s generation will again hit back and the people will get reminded of his contribution in the field of music across the world. We are on the way to make it possible. I hope the day is not far away when there will be urgency to award him with Bharat Ratna.

Now that the Government has finally left the Bharat Ratna undecided for the seventh year in a row, we must focus our energies to achieve the same for Rafi Sahab atleast next year. The need of the hour is not to lose precious time but the campaign must go on. All the time tested avenues must be explored afresh and the Government must be made ‘aware’ of the stark reality of the greatness of this one single individual who deserves this coveted award more than anyone else. The Rafi Foundation should put its act together and all those who can work for this most noble cause, need to keep the campaign as their cherished aim. Efforts made in right earnest will yield positive results although it may seem to take some time.

No politics please with Rafi Sahab.

No politics please using Rafi Sahab. He is better off without Bharat Ratna, then with it Paswan politicking.

We can’t compare Mohd. Rafi sahab’s versality with any singer. Bharat Ratna (India’s highest award) should be given to him without considerring that he is from which religion as Rafi Sahab’s is above all the religions.
