All the adjectives in all the languages are not enough to describe the phenomenon that Rafi Sahab is. There have been many a good singer that our country has produced, from the Tansen era to today’s singers. But closely monitered, Rafi Sahab stands on a different pedestal altogether and there can be no comparison to him, ever. The perfect diction, the exact rendition and the special emphasis that Rafi Sahab used to give to some of the words in his songs, make his songs a rare breed. The ease with which he sang the most difficult songs is again incomparable. I am not giving any examples for all that I have said above, for there are far too many of them to be classified as ‘examples’. Indeed, they should be classified only as “antiques” and which cannot be duplicated or copied by any other human being. It is God’s own voice – that is our RAFI SAHAB. asmurty2@rediffmail.com

Rafi Saheb is still alive in infinite hearts, no one can forget the legend, I feel Rafi Saheb is still alive. No one can take his place, may his soul rest in peace, ameen.

Kaash Rafisahab Jinda rehte tho aaj humko sache legend dekne to milte. lekin aaj unke gaane aur photos se unke baare mein jaante hai. Is baar unke 83rd birthday huve, lekin unke bahut yaad bhi aaye. Woh yaad Aaye bahut yaad aaye, yeh sach hai ki jab insaan jinda rehta hai unko hum sache man se yaad nahi karte, lekin jaab woh insaan hamare beech mein nahi rehta tho unke bahut yaad aate hai. lekin rafisahab jab jinda the log hamesha unke yaad karte the aur yaad karte hai. Unke Aatma ko shaanti raho yehi mera sacha shradanjali hai.

I pray Allah that He gives Rafi the djannah. I am very glad to hear and see that Rafi has million of fans over the whole world. One of the good thing of internet is that fans can communicate ans share songs etc. with each other. I was seeking for an answer and i think that i have found the answer. The question was why there are so less video material of Rafi, although India makes films from the earliest years? The answer is that we did not know that there will be a time when dvd and internet will be at each home. I congratulate mr. Zareef Ahmed with his nice site.

Rafi Sahib was the one and only one, No one ever will be replaced him, Shammi Kaoopr, Jatindera, Biswajit, Joy Mukerji and many many Bollywood film actors, never be that popular if Rafi Sahib wasn’t around. They can’t act.
Rafi Sahib’s mother tong was Punjabi . He have sung hundred Punjabi songs . for Actors Ravindera Kappor, Daljit, Manhor Deepak, Amar Nath, Sunder, Gupal Sahgal. Suresh, and for many other actors. I went to Bollywood to work in Punjabi films, I was looking for Rafi’s Punjabi song for picturise on me, I could not find any. I end up with Mohinder Kapoor, Sukhwinder, Suresh Wadekar. Before I went to Bollywood I have act on many Rafi Sahib songs jut for personal pleasure

Mohammed Rafi was a great singer, kind human being, having faith in God, and caring for all. He used to get deeply involved into the situation, and the hero for whom he was to sing the song.There are many songs of Mohd. Rafi, which I heard once and I remembered the complete song. I enjoy seeing movies having Rafi songs. I had spent time discussing with Rafi sahab about my special choices and I have everything in my memory. I asked him instantly which song he remembers if I say Rajendra kumar, Shammi Kapoor, Johny Walker, Mehmood, Jeetendra, Vishajeet, Shashi Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, for which I Shared my song and then he came with his one line with my request. I will keep on sharing my moments with him as I know very few Rafi lovers got the opportunity to meet him, I mean common people like me. I am happy to see the site and hope I will continue to see more. Thank you.
